William Boll

William R Boll 86, formerly of Wahpeton ND, current residence of Ottertail Lake, died June 27, 2024 under the care of Red River Valley Hospice and his loving family.

William Ralph Boll was born June 26, 1938 in Breckenridge, MN to William Anthony and Edith (Murphy) Boll. William "Bill" graduated from Wahpeton High School 1957, married Elaine Gullickson at St John's Catholic Church Wahpeton, ND November 5, 1959.

As lifelong member of Wahpeton, Bill worked for a local bottling company, hardware store, and was a member of the North Dakota National Guard. Bill learned the plumbing trade and worked for Hoppert's Plumbing and Heating, Wahpeton Plumbing and Heating and in later years for Manning Mechanical Fargo. He retired in 2000 and moved to his home on Ottertail Lake, Elaine joined him several years later. Bill and Elaine enjoyed a busy retirement filled with adventures and new friends.

He was a renowned handyman, his unending energy and eagerness to help anyone, as well as his perseverance to complete a job well, earned him the nickname the Energizer from his loving family.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Elaine; sons, Kevin, Kirk and Mark; parents, William and Edie; sisters, Elizabeth Score, Kathy Koppleman; brother Jerry; as well as many extended family members.

He is survived by his daughter, Melanie (Kevin) Puetz; daughter-in-law, Heidi Boll; grandchildren, Allison Alexander (Ryan Lunde), Matt (Bekkah) Boll, Jeremy Boll (Tina Lanchowitzer), Casey Puetz (Brandi Anderson), Hunter Boll, Joshua Stengrim and Bailey Traver.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to either St John's Catholic Church of Wahpeton or Hospice of the Red River Valley.

The funeral will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 11, 2024, at St. John's Catholic Church in Wahpeton ND, with visitation at the church from 9:30 to 10:30, rosary at 10:30 followed by service.
