Wilbur W. Langfeld, 82, a resident of Rothsay, died on Thursday, March 31, 2016, at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND.
Wilbur was born on January 4, 1934, to William and Rosie (Fiala) Langfeld, on the family farm in Akron Township, near Rothsay. He was baptized and confirmed into the Missouri Synod Faith and attended country school near the farm.
On April 10, 1955, Wilbur married Lorraine Hanneman at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. They resided in Fergus Falls, where he worked at the Highway Greenhouse. After the accidental death of his father, the couple returned to the farm, where they have lived ever since. In addition, Wilbur was a truck driver for Minn-Dak and most recently Aggregate industries, along with various other companies.
Wilbur enjoyed the farm, the animals, old time antique tractors, showing his equipment at Rollag, and watching All Star Wrestling and game shows on television.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Rosie Langfeld; his daughter, Twyla Neumann; two sisters, Laura Schmidt and Louise Sumpter; and two brothers, Winfred and Wilfred Langfeld.
Wilbur is survived by his wife of almost sixty-one years, Lorraine Langfeld of Rothsay; two sons, Dale (Dawn) Langfeld of Rothsay and Dwight (Barbara) Langfeld of Duluth; a son-in-law, Tom Neumann of Rothsay; several grand and great-grandchildren; a brother, Willis Langfeld of Andover; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 5:00-7:00 PM on Monday, April 4, 2016, at the Olson Funeral Home and resumes one hour prior to the service at the church
Service: 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls
