Wesley Haave, age 84, of Fergus Falls, died, Friday, December 27, 2013, at his home.
He was born to Andrew and Martha (Harthun) Haave on March 18, 1929, at his family’s log cabin in Aastad Township. He graduated from Fergus Falls High School in 1947. On June 9, 1972, Wesley married Myrtle Shirley Johnson in Sisseton, South Dakota.
Wesley farmed at the family farm starting from high school graduation continuing to 1998. He also worked at M-R Sign Company from 1971 to 1991. He was a member of Stavanger Lutheran Church, rural Fergus Falls.
Wes will be remembered as a kind and caring person, and an excellent role model. He enjoyed hunting, ice fishing, gardening, carpentry, building fish houses and restoring Ski-Doo snowmobiles. He was a current member of the Eagles and a past member of the Fergus Falls Elks Club.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Andrew and Martha; his twin brother, Wallace, his brother, Ralph and his sister, Sylvia.
He is survived by his wife, Myrtle Shirley; daughters: Mari Lynn (Steve Lee) Romslo of Fergus Falls, Tereasa (Gary) Link of Atwater, Minnesota and Karen Brackin of Fergus Falls; ten grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; his sister, Hazel Stubbs of Fergus Falls and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 1 hour prior to the service at the church
Service: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Stavanger Lutheran Church
