Wesley W. Bogen, age 81, of Fergus Falls, died Wednesday evening, July 2, 2008, at Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls. Wesley Wayne Bogen was born on October 16, 1926 in Fergus Falls to Oliver and Amanda (Anderson) Bogen. He went to school in Gwinner, North Dakota for a time when his family lived there and later graduated from the Battle Lake High School with the Class of 1945. In the fall of 1950 he went into the US Army serving most of his duty in Germany. On December 28, 1952 he married Phyllis Johnson in Deer Creek. During his career in construction work Wesley spent several years working on the North Shore of Lake Superior before moving to Fergus Falls in 1961 where he continued contracting until his retirement in 1980. For many years he has been a member of the VFW as well as the Elks. Wesley was a longtime member of the Federated Church here in Fergus Falls. He has enjoyed time spent in his garden, woodworking and carving, traveling around the United States and following sports teams. March always seemed to be his busy month. Wesley was preceded in death by his parents; Oliver and Amanda Bogen and a sister, Ardis Masdal. Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Bogen of Fergus Falls, his sons, Jerry Bogen of Fergus Falls, John (JoAn) Bogen of Jackson, Wyoming, Jeff (Kim) Bogen also of Jackson, Wyoming, and Richard (Lynne) Feldick of Fergus Falls, two brothers, Oliver (Audrey) Bogen, Jr. of St. Paul and Roger (Doreen) Bogen of Owatonna, as well as five grandchildren; Steven, Craig, Bliss, Brianne, and Ryan.
