Wendy Barry

February 18, 1965 — June 22, 2012

Wendy Sue Barry, 47, of rural Fergus Falls perished at Lake Region Hospital as a result of an automobile accident on Friday, June 22, 2012. She was born on February 18, 1965 in Perham, Minnesota, the daughter of Greg and Cheryl (Rostad) Barry. She was baptized and confirmed at Tingvold Lutheran Church of Underwood and graduated from Underwood High School in 1983. She also earned a degree in Fashion Merchandising from the Detroit Lakes Vocational School in 1985. Wendy was a rare, one-of-a-kind individual who was exceedingly passionate about everything she pursued. Although Wendy experienced the world, she remained a farm girl at heart, which was most evident in her solid work ethic. She was adored by many and was a powerful influence in her children’s lives using every opportunity to teach them life lessons. Wendy maintained a unique perspective on life, which was keenly demonstrated through many of her choices such as her compulsion to shepherd animals, especially exotic ones. Wendy loved her morning coffee, writing her book, anticipation of her next painting job and above all, loved her children. She will be missed profoundly by her family and friends. Wendy is preceded in death by her grandparents, Olive and Herbert Rostad and Bernard and Fern Barry. She is survived by her children, Nicholas Fiala (Milwaukee) and Zoey, Heidi and Galen Mears (Fergus Falls); her parents, Greg Barry and Cheryl Barry (Underwood); her siblings Wade Barry (Minneapolis), Mike and Kristen (Barry) Chess (Chagrin Falls) and Lesley Barry (Moorhead); and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. There will be a memorial service at 11 a.m. Friday, June 29, 2012, at Tingvold Lutheran Church, rural Underwood with Reverend Nancy Monke officiating. Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls is in charge of the arrangements.
