Wayne Arthur Shearer, 58, a resident of Erhard, died unexpectedly on Sunday, January 22, 2012, at his home. He was born January 4, 1954, in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, the son of Gerald and Jane (Whitlock) Shearer. He graduated from Fergus Falls High School in 1972, and attended Moorhead Technical College. On March 21, 1981, he married Diane Heiden in Fergus Falls. He was self-employed for many years as a carpenter. For the last year what Wayne considered his “best job ever” was providing daycare for his grandson, Jude. He was a member of the Fergus Falls Rifle and Pistol Club. Wayne loved woodworking, photography, hunting and shooting, reading and visiting with his friends at the Public Library, spending time in the outdoors and taking walks with his dog. Preceding him in death were his parents, Gerald and Jane Shearer. Survivors include his wife, Diane Shearer of Fergus Falls; three children: Jesse Lee Shearer, James Arthur and Michelle Shearer, and Megan Elizabeth Shearer, all of Fergus Falls; his grandson, Jude Arthur Shearer of Fergus Falls; his siblings: Barbara and Rob Von Hagen of Bagley, MN, Marc and Becky Shearer of Erhard, MN, Kathy McLaughlin and Roger Lewis of Barnesville, MN, and Ursula and Wolf Eiblmayr of Engelsberg, Deutschland; as well as many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are his beloved pets Craig and Nikki. There will be a memorial gathering from 5-7 p.m. Friday, January 27, 2012, at the Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls.
