Warren Swanson

Warren Carl Swanson, age 95, passed away at Rolling Hills Assisted Living, Barret, MN, on Wednesday, March 13, 2024.

Warren was born June 30, 1928 in Elbow Lake to Carl and Esther (Thornberg) Swanson. He was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Elbow Lake, MN. He graduated from Elbow Lake High School with the class of 1946.

On August 11, 1948 he was united in marriage to Arlene Lindberg at First Lutheran Church in Battle Lake, MN.

Warren began a lifelong career in construction. He was involved in both commercial and residential projects including leaving his mark on renovating many buildings in downtown Fergus Falls.

In 1979 he and Arlene moved to their home on South Turtle Lake where he enjoyed fishing and other outdoor activities. He loved deer hunting and snowmobiling at his cabin in northern Minnesota.

Warren is survived by his sons, Dean (Ann) of Moorhead, MN and Clayton (Sue) of Big Sky MT; daughter, Cindy Swanson (Craig Winczewski) of Detroit Lakes, MN; five grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Warren was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene of 55 years and his parents, Carl and Esther.

Funeral Service: 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Olson Funeral and Cremation in Fergus Falls, with visitation one-hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Clergy: Reverend David Strom

Interment: Union Cemetery, Elbow Lake, MN
