Warren Lowe was reunited with his loving wife Janette, February 13, 2022, at the age of 82.
Warren was born in Robbinsdale, Minnesota to Florence and James Lowe on September 12, 1939. He attended Robbinsdale grade schools and DeLaSalle High School in Minneapolis Minnesota, graduating in 1957 and attending the University of Minnesota. Upon graduation, his initial sales job took him to the office where he met his future wife Janette (McAlpin) Lowe. They were married in Minneapolis on February 17, 1962. Warren joined the salesforce of 3M’s Abrasive Materials Group and subsequently moved to Milwaukee, WI, Houston Texas, Detroit MI and eventually to Glenview Il. After resigning from the 3M sales group, Warren purchased the Mandersheid Company a primary distributor of 3M abrasive products in the Midwest.
They loved and took advantage of all entertaining, dining and athletic events Chicagoland had to offer. Their curling activities at the Northshore Country Club led Warren into an appointment as Director of Finance of what is now the World Curling Federation, headquartered in Perth, Scotland. This afforded the Lowe’s the opportunity to participate in many of the Winter Olympics. Warren and Jan traveled the world and loved it and the many friends they acquired.
In 2002, on their retirement, Fergus Falls, Minnesota became their new home. Janette’s father and mother owned a summer home on Ottertail Lake, where Warren and Jan spent many happy days creating fond memories in and around the area. Warren was responsible for the fundraising for the new public library in Fergus Falls. He also enjoyed his participation in Rotary and recently was named a Paul Harris Fellow.
Even though Warren has no known relatives, his close relationship with the Peterson/Schroeder families spanned nearly 60 years. Chris and Terry Peterson were with him during his recent hospitalization and at his bedside on his passing. They also assisted Warren during Janette’s recent illness and passing September 2020. Thank you for your caring and loving support.
Memorials should be directed to the Fergus Falls Public library a place near and dear to Warren and Jan.
