Warren D. Erickson, 84, a resident of Doran, died Monday, August 4, 2014 at Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls.
He was born April 17, 1930 in Fergus Falls to Lloyd and Margaret (Anderson) Erickson. He grew up in Bradford Township in Wilkin County and attended Country School there. He then attended West Central Ag School in Morris. After graduation he returned to the farm where he worked the farm with his parents.
On August 26, 1949 he married Marjorie Sether at the family farm. Shortly after their marriage, Warren and Marge moved to Western Township where they have continued to live.
Warren was a lifelong member of the Vukku Lutheran Church where he was baptized and confirmed. He was active on many boards, past president and was a founding member of the cemetery board. He also belonged to the Midland Co-Op Oil Board, Mid Am Dairy, Production Credit Association and was also a former 4-H leader.
He enjoyed water sports, especially teaching countless family and friends how to water ski. Most of all, Warren loved spending time with his family. They enjoyed traveling throughout the US and spent their winters in Arizona for many years.
He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Dale Erickson; infant grandson, Nathan Hagen.
Warren is survived by his wife, Marge of Doran; children, Diane (Bruce) Hagen of Barnesville, Rebecca (Rex) Johnson or Sebeka, Brad Erickson of Fergus Falls, Daniel (Linda) Erickson of Underwood; daughter-in-law, Tammy Erickson of Wahpeton, ND; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Phyllis Quanbeck of Salem, OR.
Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Friday, August 8, 2014 with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service at Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls
Memorial Service: 2 p.m. Saturday, August 9, 2014 at Vukku Lutheran Church in rural Foxhome
