Wanda Lou Hought, 72, of rural Foxhome, died Sunday, November 11, 2012, at her home.
She was born February 1, 1940, in Doran, Minnesota, the daughter of Anton and Clara (Martinson) Anderson. She attended grade school in Foxhome, and graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1958.
On April 12, 1959, she married John Hought at Foxhome Lutheran Church. They made their home in Andrea Township, rural Foxhome, where they farmed and raised their family.
Wanda was a member of the Homemaker’s Club, the Red Hat Society, and the Farm Wife Organization. She taught “Ag in the Classroom” at many schools around the area. She was a member of Foxhome Lutheran Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher and Sunday school superintendent.
She enjoyed quilting, gardening, sewing, reading, and was a sports fan following professional teams. Spending time with family and friends always brought her special joy. She was an avid fan of her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. She was also blessed to be a part of a mission trip to Haiti.
Wanda was diagnosed with a tumor on November 15, 2011. She had a miracle year of time to spend with us, much more than we had expected.
Preceding her in death were her parents, a brother, Lynn Anderson, and a granddaughter, Alianna Marie Hought.
Survivors include her husband, John Hought, of Foxhome; five children: Tammy (Russ) Bjerkness of Foxhome, Terry (Bob) Rensvold of Barnesville, Tim (Bea) Hought of Foxhome, Tony (Lisa) Hought of Foxhome, and Carl Griesy of Japan; 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; three sisters: Marcella Heitkamp of Breckenridge, Darlene Ehlert of Fergus Falls, and Karen (Tex) Larson of Rothsay; four brothers: Orlo (Ginny) Anderson of Winthrop, MN, Cal (Judy) Anderson of Sun City, AZ, LeRoy (Joan) Anderson of Fergus Falls, and Keith (Eileen) Anderson of Alexandria; a sister-in-law, Judy (Dave) Carlson of Richville, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service, and resumes one hour prior to the service at the church.
Service: 11 a.m. Friday, November 16, 2012, at Foxhome Lutheran Church, Foxhome
