Wallace Delano Aagren, 78, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Monday, December 26, 2011, at Lake Region Healthcare in Fergus Falls. He was born December 28, 1932, in Stanley, North Dakota, the son of Henry Lystad and Eva Peterena Aagren. They moved to Evansville, Minnesota where his mother did housework for farmers. As they moved around the area he attended school in several different towns including Holmes City, Carlisle, and Rothsay. Following graduation he served in the U.S. Army in Puerto Rico and Panama. On June 25, 1960, he married Annette Rowe in Ashby, Minnesota. They lived in Minneapolis until moving to Fergus Falls in 1974. He worked as a machinist at Braun Tools, and as a custodian for Augustana Lutheran Church and for the Fergus Falls Public Schools until his retirement. Wally was a member of Augustana Lutheran Church, the Classic Car Club, Senior Citizens, Sons of Norway, and volunteered with the Meals on Wheels and at the Broen Memorial Home. Preceding him in death were his parents. Survivors include his wife, Annette Aagren of Fergus Falls; two sons, Thomas Aagren and Brent Aagren, both of Fergus Falls; his in-laws: Robert (Judy) Rowe of Brooklyn Park, MN, Francis (Elaine) Rowe of Poway, CA, Marilyn Nagel of Fergus Falls, and Richard Rowe of Merrimack, NH; and many nieces and nephews.
