Vivian L. Kugler

Vivian Luella Kugler, 92, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Saturday, August 26, 2017, at LB Broen Home in Fergus Falls.
She was born on April 24, 1925, in Fergus Falls, MN, to John P. and Inga (Stolson) Swenson. Vivian attended different country schools, and attended two years of high school in Hoffman, MN.
On October 6, 1942, Vivian married Maurice M. Kugler at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. They were blessed with the birth of their two sons, Perry and Keith.
From 1942-1962, she worked alongside her husband on the farm. Vivian also worked at Woolworths, Ernie’s Food Store, and Pamida where she retired from after 16 years in 1982.
Vivian loved visiting with family and friends, especially telling stories from long ago to the Great Grand kids. She will be remembered for her orange rolls and rice crispy bars. As you were leaving she always sent goodies home with you. She also loved music, especially Elvis songs, and dancing. A hobby of hers was collecting spoons and matches. Vivian, and her beloved husband Maurice, travelled extensively across the country but enjoyed Graceland and Branson the most.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband Maurice; brothers, Selvin, Robert, Ervin, Palmer, Richard, and Morris Swenson; sisters, Stella Swenson, Lillian Johnson, Margaret Barry, Alma Palmquist, and Ruby Van Santen.
Survivors include her children, Perry (Janet) Kugler of rural Battle Lake, Keith Kugler and companion Karen Kersey of Streetman, Texas; grandchildren, Prentice Kugler (Dusti) of St. Louis Park, Kirstin (Kevin) Showell of White Bear Lake; great-grandchildren, Stone Sullivan of White Bear Lake, Rafferty and Hattie Kugler of St. Louis Park; sister-in-law, Arlette Swenson of Alexandria; and a former daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Kugler of Fergus Falls; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Trinity-Faith Cemetery Fund or L.B. Hospice.
Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at the funeral home and will resume one
hour prior to the service at the church.
Service: 11 a.m. Thursday, August 31, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Fergus Falls, MN
