Virginia Maie Schroeder, 86, a resident of Dalton, died December 8, 2015, in Scottsdale, AZ.
Virginia was born on November 19, 1929, in Fergus Falls, to Ray and Maie (Foshaug) Bergeson.
She was baptized and confirmed at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Dalton, and attended grade school in Dalton. She later attended and graduated from Washington High School in Fergus Falls.
On August 28, 1949, she married Arnold Schroeder at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Dalton. For many years, Virginia and Arnold owned and operated Ray’s Oil and Gambles Store in Dalton.
Virginia was a member of Our Savior’s Ten Mile Lake Lutheran Church and WELCA in Dalton. She loved shopping, cooking, baking, entertaining and traveling. Also, very special to her was the time she spent with her family and friends in Dalton and Scottsdale.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Maie Bergeson; her husband, Arnold Schroeder; her sister and brother-in-law, Bette and Dwayne Johnson; and her sisters-in-law, Doris Barcelon, Adeline Schimtz and LaVilla Sites.
Virginia is survived by her daughter, Susan (Jerry) Schumann of Jordan, MN; sons, David (Mary Jo) Schroeder, Bill Schroeder and John (Dawn) Schroeder, all of Dalton; her special friend and companion, Roger Haugse of Dalton; her grandchildren, Angela (Jason) Heipel, Michael Gustafson, Aric (Nicky) Welch, Michael (Melissa) Olson, Darcy (Ryan) Risbrudt, Joshua Schroeder and Ashley (Kadie) Schroeder; her great-grandchildren, Cole and Brandon Heipel, Kai and Lyla Welch, Ayden and Sophia Olson, Max and Mason Risbrudt and Levi Schroeder; two sisters-in-law, LaVerne LaPolla of Port Orchard, WA, Millie Lane of Burlington, WI; a special niece and nephew, Jackie (Chioma) Johnson-Onwukwe and Jim (Sue) Johnson; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
