Virgil Leon Stich, 62, a resident of Fergus Falls, died unexpectedly at his home, succumbing to a recent struggle with depression, on Monday, March 2, 2015.
He was born on April 28, 1952, in Fergus Falls, the son of Norbert and Donna M. (Johnson) Stich. Virgil grew up in Fergus Falls and attended Fergus Falls High School, graduating in 1971.
On June 15, 1985 he was united in marriage to Debra (Moe) Stich in Fergus Falls, where they also made their home.
Virgil worked for the city of Fergus Falls for over 38 years and was a very dedicated employee. He was a member of the Fergus Falls Eagles. Virgil enjoyed football, wrestling and bowling. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Norbert and Donna and his sister, Charlene Jacquart.
Virgil is survived by his wife, Debra of Fergus Falls; his two sons, Jeremiah (Erika) Stich of Minneapolis and Zach (Claire) Stich of Fergus Falls; four grandchildren, Lucy, Bard, Jared and Rachel; father and mother-in-law, Melford and Anabel Moe of Fergus Falls; three brothers-in-law, David Moe of Fergus Falls, Harvey Moe of Fergus Falls, Brad Moe of Fergus Falls; two sisters-in-law, JoAnne (Don) McQuisten of Fergus Falls and Dianne (Larry) Keimig of Hammond, WI; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2015 at Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls. Visitation will resume one hour prior to the service.
Service: 11 a.m. Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls.
