Violet Evelyn Harriet Scott, ended her 94 year earthly journey on Thursday, March 5, 2015, at PioneerCare, Fergus Falls.
A lifelong resident of Fergus Falls, she was born November 2, 1920, to John and Ida (Schmidt) Hanson, the sixth of 12 children. She grew up in Fergus Falls and was the first of her family to graduate from High School.
Vi worked as a clerk for a short time and then as a receptionist and office assistant to Dr. V. J. Eastman and Dr. E. W. Carlson. In February 14, 1946, she married Clifford Scott. They made their home in Fergus Falls.
During the years their children were growing up, she taught Sunday School and Bible School at First United Church of Christ. From 1967-1983, she worked as a cashier for Electrolux.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, doing craft projects and tending to her flowers.
Vi is on her journey to the New Jerusalem, joining those who have gone before, her husband, Clifford, son, Tim, parents, siblings and many friends.
Survivors include a daughter, Tracy Carter of Golden Valley; four grandsons; Jon (Melissa) Carter, Jeff, Ben and Matt Carter and four great-grandchildren; Tyler, Aaron, Hunter and Cheyenne; daughter-in-law, Lori Scott; former son-in-law, Steve Carter; sister, Lucille Schmidt; brothers, Lester and Marvin Hanson; brother-in-law, Merle Scott along with numerous other brothers and sisters-in law and nieces and nephews.
Vi’s family would like to thank the PioneerCare staff for their loving care given to her while she resided there.
Memorials are preferred to First United Church of Christ or Lakeland Hospice.
