Violet Mae Anderson, age 95, of Fergus Falls, died Monday, February 27, 2017, at the Broen Home in Fergus Falls.
She was born April 25, 1921, in Calvin, ND, the daughter of Richard and Mattie (Rice) Buckingham.
Vi worked at the School of the Blind in Grand Forks for a time. On July 2, 1943, she married Roy Anderson in Devils Lake, ND, at St. Olaf’s Lutheran Church. Following their move to Fergus Falls, she was employed with Roy at GTA Elevator in Fergus Falls for 25 years. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband of 50 years, Roy; brothers, Vincent, Kenneth and Darwin and a sister, Dorothy Hall.
Survivors include her children, Richard (Marylyn) Anderson of Fargo, ND, Judi Invie of Picacho, AZ, and Bruce (Wendy) Anderson of Fergus Falls, MN; grandchildren, Kerry (Gerald) Wynne of Fargo, ND, Wendy (Mike) Anderson-Berg of Bismarck, ND, Joshua (Prudence) Anderson of Santa Clarita, CA, Jeremy (Samantha Kloss) Anderson of Brainerd, MN; six great-grandchildren, Tasha and Ashley Wynne, Eleanor and Charlie Berg, and Sydney and Taylor Anderson; a brother, Wallace Buckingham of Fargo, ND; sisters, Lorna McCabe of Fergus Falls, MN, Vivian Smith of Leeds, ND, Matie Krout of Garrison, ND; a sister-in-law, Ida Buckingham of Rothsay, MN and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Service: 11:00 AM on Thursday March, 9, 2017, at the Olson Funeral Home Chapel
