Viola C. “Ole” Erickson, age 76, passed away on Monday, August 24, 2015, at Essentia Health in Fargo, North Dakota, after a long battle with cancer.
Viola Corrine was born on October 7, 1938, to Albert and Irene (Anderson) Erickson at the family farm near Lake Lizzie in Ottertail County. She was baptized at home, along with three of her siblings and was confirmed at Bethel Lutheran Church in Pelican Rapids. She enjoyed making lawn ornaments, playing her guitar, working on the farm, drawing, painting, auction sales and hunting and fishing on the family farm.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Irene Erickson and two brothers-in-law, Edward Lammers and David Kellerhuis.
Viola is survived by her four sisters, Leone Lammers of Barnesville, Margaret Kellerhuis of Detroit Lakes and Laureen Erickson and Lavonne Erickson, both of Pelican Rapids; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and her good friend, Verna Marwig.
