Theona Jennen

Theona W. Jennen, 89, of Fergus Falls, died Tuesday, October 21, 2008, at the Pioneer Retirement Community in Fergus Falls after a brief hospital stay.  Theona Eva Wedll was born on November 8, 1918, the eldest daughter of George and Elizabeth Wedll of Elizabeth, MN. She married John E. Jennen and they started farming after World War II in Carlisle Township of Otter Tail County. To this union seven children were born. Theona found her role as wife, mother and caregiver for her many friends and family very rewarding throughout the years. She was an active member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, participating in circles, mission work and quilting. She enjoyed sewing, reading, traveling, bowling, bridge, and her neighborhood homemakers group.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; and three brothers: Bernard, Cecil and Walter. Survivors include one brother, Lawrence (Myrtle) Wedll of Fergus Falls; two sisters, Rita (El) Wesenberg of N. Palm Beach, FL, and Irene Kumm of Fergus Falls; seven children: Gary (Kay) Jennen of Fergus Falls, Lynn (Chuck) Byrd of Atlanta, GA, Mary (Ward) Barnes of Wake, VA, Nancy (Ed) Stockhausen of Houston, TX, Ann (Bruce Jacobs) Jennen of St. Paul, Tom (Deb) Jennen of Fergus Falls, and Tim Jennen of St. Paul; 17 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Memorials are preferred to the OLV Anchor Fund and Covenant House. Visitation: 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23 with a 7 p.m. prayer service at the funeral home, and  resumes one hour prior to the service at the church.
