Thedore “Ted” Roosevelt Jones, Jr. 87, of Fergus Falls, died January 12, 2023, at his home.
Thedore was born November 11, 1935, in Marietta, FL to Theodore Sr. and Lavinnie Jones.
He graduated from Jacksonville Highschool in Jacksonville, FL. After school he worked for the railroad and joined the US Air Force. He served 24 years in the air force living in Japan, England, Germany, Okinawa and Vietnam. In 1979 he was discharged from the Grand Forks Air Force Base. Following his discharge he worked for Kimber Awning, Medallion Kitchens, Carlisle Co-op, owned and operated the “J–Bar–T” in Elizabeth, then attended Detroit Lakes Vocational Tech School for three years, and lastly, he worked for the turkey plant in Pelican Rapids.
On August 26, 1956, he married Joann Doris Clapshaw in Great Falls, MT.
He was a lifetime member of the VFW. He was still a southern boy and loved his step-mom’s biscuits, grits, and good fried chicken.
Ted liked watching old black and white shows, golfing, camping, gardening, hunting and fishing and going to the Viking Café.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Mable; wife, Joann in 2010; son, Loyd; two sisters and three step-brothers.
Thedore is survived by his children, Kim Kirkvold of Battle Lake, Sandra (Al) Kutzke of Fergus Falls and Sherry Anderson of Fergus Falls and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
The “Younguns” will miss him dearly.
Service: 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at the Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls. Visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Interment: St. John’s Cemetery, Dent, MN
