Steven Roger Stroschein

Steven Roger Stroschein, 74, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at the Broen Home in Fergus Falls.

He was born on November 16, 1943, in Fergus Falls, to Max and Genevieve (Laney) Stroschein Sr., the youngest of five children.

Steven loved working with his hands doing carpentry; his favorite work was woodcutting. He loved cats and his home was always home to many stray cats. Steven also loved old time and country music. He enjoyed going out with his friends to listen to his favorite local bands.

Steven was an avid fisherman and deer hunter. Although developmentally disabled, he always worked very hard and owned his own home since his father’s death in 1995.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Max and Genevieve; brothers, Max Jr., Victor “Buddy”; sister, Jan Stenger.

Survivors include his brother, James (Diane) Stroschein; as well as several nieces and nephews.


Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the funeral home
Service: 1 p.m. Friday, May 11, 2018, at the Olson Funeral Home Chapel in Fergus Falls

Interment: First United Church of Christ Cemetery, Fergus Falls, MN
