Steven Nettestad

Steven Nettestad, 59, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.

Steven was born on October 14, 1955 in Breckenridge, MN, the son of Vernon and Marcella (Martinson) Nettestad. He grew up in Tintah and graduated from Campbell Tintah High School in 1974.

On April 8, 1978 he married Sherry Arness in Elbow Lake, MN. He worked various jobs over the years, including, maintenance supervisor at the YMCA from 1982 to 2005. He also worked for PioneerCare and at Productive Alternatives.

He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. He enjoyed hunting deer and geese, fishing, golfing and in his earlier years he loved to play racquetball.

Preceding him in death was his father, Vernon; father-in-law, Mervin Aarness; sisters-in-law, Vicki Nettestad and Dawn Aarness.

Survivors include his wife, Sherry of Fergus Falls; daughter, Danielle Nettestad (fiancé Travis Zuehlsdorff) of Fergus Falls; son, Mitchell Nettestad of Fergus Falls; grandchildren, Chase, Zander and Zayda Zuehlsdorff; mother, Marcella Nettestad, sister, Patty (Mike) Bergquist of Foxhome; brother, Tom Nettestad special friend Patty of West Fargo, ND; mother-in-law, Donna Aarness of Fergus Falls; sisiter-in-law, Jody Skuza of Lowry; two brothers-in-law, Terry (Elaine) Aarness of Iron Mountain, MI and Kevin Aarness of Fergus Falls. Also surviving are nieces, nephews and his loyal companion and riding around buddy, his dog, Rambo.
