Steven Floyd Mark, 49, a resident of Underwood, died Thursday, November 29, 2007 at his home. He was born December 3, 1957, in Fergus Falls, the son of Floyd and Constance (Rose) Mark. Steve grew up on the family farm in rural Dalton and attended rural school District 1387 and graduated from Underwood High School in 1975. He then attended North Dakota State School of Science in the Auto Body program, graduating in 1977. On August 16, 1980, he married his high school sweetheart, Sharon Thompson at the Tingvold Lutheran Church, rural Underwood. They made their home in rural Underwood. Steven was employed with Mark Sand and Gravel Co. in Fergus Falls, Johnson Brothers Corp. in Litchfield and Richard Knutson Inc. in Savage. Steve traveled throughout the United States with his employment duties as a Superintendent. He enjoyed talking about his many work projects. He truly loved his work and had great memories of times with his co-workers. He was a lifetime member of Tordenskjold Lutheran Church, where he was baptized and confirmed and served as a Sunday School teacher. He was a member of the 49ers and volunteered his time with the Boy Scouts. Steve enjoyed his summers at the lake. At home you could always find Steve, jeans rolled up, barefoot and digging in his garden. He took pride in all his canning projects. Steve enjoyed his fishing, hunting and snowmobiling adventures. His hands were always busy tinkering with engines. His shop doors were always open to others who needed help with their repairs and anyone in need of good conversation. He enjoyed his last months sharing special days with his sister, Linda. Two of his greatest joys were watching Brady play football and seeing his little girl, Kali on her wedding day. Preceding him in death were his mother, Constance; grandparents, Art and Edith Rose and Cornelius and Koosja Mark; nephew, Jacob Ness; niece, Baby Girl Thompson; great-nephew, Bryce Lanoue and great-niece, McKenzie Klinnert. Survivors include his wife, Sharon; children, Kali (Brian) Koehn of Fergus Falls and Brady Mark of Underwood; his father, Floyd (Norita) Mark of Dalton; his father and mother-in-law, Richard and Marlene Suchy of Underwood; sisters, Vicki (Virgil) Evavold, Linda Rostad, and Sue (Mark) Moore all of Fergus Falls, and Deb (Brad) Odegard of Fargo, ND; brothers, Mike (Tammy) Mark and Matthew (Christy) Mark all of Dalton; sisters-in-law, Bonnie (Russ) Bye and Peggy (Randy) Nelson, all of Underwood, Sue (Brian) Rismoen of Fergus Falls, Tammy (Jim) Carter of Wadena and Brenda Ness of Underwood; brothers-in-law, Dick (Kathi) Thompson of Underwood, Curt (Roxanne) Thompson of Battle Lake and Ron (JoAnn) Thompson of Fergus Falls; Bruce Ness of Dalton, along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Visitation: 3-5 p.m. Sunday with a 5 p.m. public prayer service at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church Service:     2 p.m. Monday at Zion-Sarpsborg Free Lutheran Church in Dalton Clergy:     Reverend Steve Carlson and Pastor Mark Johnson Interment: Tordenskjold Cemetery, rural Underwood Funeral Home:     Olson Funeral Home of Fergus Falls.
