Steven R. Jorgenson, 64, of Rothsay, passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at PioneerCare in Fergus Falls, after a short battle with cancer.
Steven was born on July 20, 1951, in Fergus Falls to Edward C. and Doris (Weik) Jorgenson. He was baptized and confirmed at Hedemarken Lutheran Church in rural Carlisle. Steve graduated from Fergus Falls High School in 1969 and then joined the Army Reserves.
Steven married Debra Lynn Anderson on May 13, 1972, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. Over the years, he was employed by the Carlisle Elevator and the Rothsay Farmers Elevator.
Steven was a member of the Rothsay Volunteer Fire Department and the Elizabeth Sportsman Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, watching and feeding birds, driving around and watching James Bond and old western movies.
He was preceded in death by his father Edward; his father-in-law, Darrell Anderson and a sister-in-law Debbie (Maack) Jorgenson.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Debbie; his mother, Doris; three daughters, Tammy L. (Stacey) Beyer of Hoffman, Kari A. (Jeremy) Carlsrud of Rothsay and Kimberly R. (Eric) Larson of Rothsay; six grandchildren, Aaron and Andrew Beyer of Hoffman, Kenadi and Grace Carlsrud of Rothsay and Gavin and Isabelle Larson of Rothsay; four siblings, Lee Jorgenson of Little Falls, Sandra K. Jorgenson, Roger Jorgenson and Paul (Lori) Jorgenson, all of Rothsay; his mother-in-law, Bonitta Anderson of Fergus Falls and also numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
