Stanley E. Westby, 88, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Saturday, November 18, 2017 at LB Broen Home in Fergus Falls.
Stanley was born on October 14, 1929 in Fairdale, ND, the son of Jacob and Amelia (Arneson) Westby. He attended school in Fairdale and graduated from Fairdale High School in 1947. In 1951 he joined the United States Marine Corp and served at Camp Lejuene in North Carolina and Korea. He was honorably discharged in 1953. He attended North Dakota School of Science for 2 years, graduating in 1957 with a degree in auto mechanics.
On September 2, 1956 he married Ruth A. Krueger at the Congregational Church in Wahpeton, ND. Stanley worked in the part department for Wahpeton Auto Parts and later Sturdevants, retiring in 1991.
He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls and also a life member of the VFW in Fergus Falls.
He enjoyed camping and fishing and doing puzzles. He enjoyed the time he spent with his many friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents and sisters, Elaine Fagerholt, Dorothy Mohagen, Grace Fischer and Arlene Knorr.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth of Fergus Falls; sister, Ruth Jagd of Minot, ND; two brothers, Jerome (Rita) and Richard (Linda) both of Grand Forks, ND and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church
Service: 1 p.m. Friday, November 24, at Hope Lutheran Church of Fergus Falls

Burial: Fairview Cemetery in Wahpeton, ND
