Sidonna Bradow

March 14, 1940 — January 4, 2024

Sidonna Bradow, 83, of Fergus Falls, died Thursday, January 4, 2024 under the care of Your Home at the Lake memory care facility and Moments Hospice.

Sidonna Mae Hennig was born on March 14, 1940 in Taylor, MI (a suburb of Detroit). She was the daughter of Hilda and Vernon Hennig and had a younger sister, Diann. The family moved to Fergus Falls, MN in 1948 and soon purchased and operated the Broadway Market, a small family-owned grocery store on North Broadway in Fergus Falls. As a child, Sidonna worked in the market helping customers, cutting meat, and delivering groceries in a little red wagon. She went to Sunday School and was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. She graduated in 1958 from Fergus Falls High School and then attended college at the Minnesota School of Business where she received a degree in Business Administration.

She met Norman Bradow while attending church and high school and was married to Norman on July 16, 1960 at Trinity Lutheran Church. They moved to Blaine, MN and Sidonna worked at the main warehouse of the John Deere company in Bloomington, MN. They had two children, a daughter, Jo Lynn, and a son, Timothy. The family relocated to Fergus Falls, MN in 1976. In 1978, Norman and Sidonna purchased Becklund-Rian Marine and re-named the business Fergus Marine. They sold the marine business in 1982 and relocated to Maple Grove, MN where Sidonna was employed as an executive secretary and other administrative roles for 15 years at Honeywell Inc. As a grandmother, she worked full-time and attended night school at North Hennepin Junior College for two yrs.

Norman and Sidonna enjoyed fishing and camping with their children and grandchildren, and shared many fishing adventures to wilderness areas in Canada. They traveled extensively throughout the United States, including major road trips to all of the lower 48 states in their pickup camper, and multiple trips to Alaska and Hawaii. In 1975 they purchased a lot on the east side of Jewett Lake and built a lake cottage, which the family still owns and enjoys today. Upon early retirement from Honeywell, she and Norman moved back to Fergus Falls in 2006 where they built their current home on the east side of Opperman Lake. Sidonna enjoyed gardening, scenic photography, genealogy, and fresh-water fishing where she became a Master Angler of Manitoba.

She is survived by Norman Bradow, her husband of 63 years; her two children Jo Lynn (Mike) Beyer and Timothy (fiancé, Stephanie) Bradow; her sister Diann Hennig, and her six grandchildren Jason (Cassie) Jorgenson, Nichole Boehland (Jacob Haugen), Justin (Josie) Beyer, Jenna (Mason) Hegstad, Matthew Bradow, Grant Bradow, and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.
