Shirley A. Anderson, 90, of Fergus Falls died Wednesday, October 9, 2019, at LB Broen Home in Fergus Falls.
Shirley was born September 12, 1929, to George and Anna (Johnson) Curtis in Star Lake Township. She grew up on West Lost Lake. She attended Barnhard School and later graduated from Underwood High School in 1947.
On September 27, 1947 she married Roger Anderson in Dalton. They farmed in Tumuli Township until 1965, at which time they moved to Fergus Falls. She worked as a bookkeeper at Gambles Hardware and at the Park Region Bakery. In 1969, they moved to St. Cloud where she did the books for “Rudolph Equipment.” She and her husband settled in Fergus Falls in 2002 and remained residents. They enjoyed wintering for many years in Mesa, AZ.
She loved to do puzzles, flower gardening, and was a fabulous cook. Shirley was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. She was formerly a member of The Order of the Eastern Star and the District Seven School Board.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Anna; her husband, Roger; son, Dennis; siblings, Ruby Thom, Eleanor Budke, Marie Ohren, Leone Rau, and Keith Curtis.
She is survived by her sons, Gary (Connie) Anderson of Battle Lake, David (Kate) Anderson of Sauk Centre, and Mark (Cindee) Anderson of Walker; daughter, Nancy (John) Woolf of Little Chute, WI; daughter-in-law, Mary Anderson of Kaukauna, WI; siblings, George (Delores) Curtis of Pennsylvania, Cleo Langseth of Dilworth, and Margie Bugbee of Fergus Falls; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at the funeral home
Service: 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday October 15, 2019, at the Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls
Clergy: Chaplain Caleb Larson
Interment: Ten Mile Lake Lutheran Cemetery rural Dalton
