Shelly Bakke

Shelly Lynette Bakke, 57, of Fergus Falls, passed away peacefully at home, following a long illness, surrounded by family on Tuesday, August 16, 2022.

Shelly was born on July 14, 1965 in Grand Forks, ND. She attended school in Grand Forks and went on to work at a variety of jobs throughout her life which included caring for and assisting elderly person in her community, house cleaning service, and waitressing. Shelly volunteered her time at area nursing homes in the community where she lived. She would visit with and assist the residents with activities.

Some of her hobbies included making holiday baskets for friends and family, reading, writing and journaling, biking with her significant other, going on car trips to visit special attractions such as, national and state parks in numerous states, visiting with family and friends, and she loved to cook.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Bakke and JoAnn Kleppe, and a brother, John Bakke.

Shelly is survived by her significant other, Sean Gittings of Fergus Falls; her son, David (fiancé, Christy) Raith, and grandchildren, Roxus and Dante of Macon, GA; siblings, Robert Miller of Grand Forks, ND, Cheryl Beauchamp of Florence, AZ, James Ivan Bakke Jr. of Horace, ND, and Janelle Kleppe of Horace, ND, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and many, many special friends.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
