Sheila Jo Siken, 44, of Lodi, Calif., died Friday, Feb. 29, 2008 in California. She was born to Wallace and Evelyn Kluck on Sept. 20, 1963, in Breckenridge. She graduated in 1982 from Rothsay High School, where she was active in basketball and volleyball. She graduated from Minnesota State University, Moorhead in 1986. Sheila married Brian Siken on Aug. 30, 1986, and they made their home in St. Paul. They later moved to Denver, Colo., and Ramona, Calif. In 1991, they moved to Lodi, where Brian served as the youth pastor at Temple Baptist Church for 13 years and pastor of Discipleship-Outreach for two years. Sheila was the key ministry partner with Brian sharing in many of his church activities for the last 15 years. Sheila was a substitute elementary school teacher in the Lodi area. As a member of Temple Baptist Church, she was a teacher in AWANA, Sunday school, and at Vacation Bible School. She had taken several mission trips with Brian, including trips to Brazil, Russia and New Mexico. She especially enjoyed watching her own children play basketball, softball and swimming, and with family she enjoyed camping, backpacking, traveling and was a bargain shopper. She was preceded in death by her father, Wallace Kluck; and a sister, Joyce Rogers. Survivors include her husband, the Rev. Brian Siken of Lodi; her three children, Lydia, Jacob and Joel, still at home; her mother, Evelyn Kluck of Rothsay; four sisters, Jean (Rich) Sonnenblum of Wayzata, Janice Baker of Moorhead, Sandra (David) Stewart of Indianapolis, Ind., and Sheri (Bruce) Ugelstad of Fargo; two brothers, Roger (Kathy) Kluck of Oak Grove and Robert (Mary) Kluck of Cottage Grove. An informal memorial gathering is planned at 2 p.m. Friday, at Hamar Lutheran Church, Rothsay, MN. All family and friends are invited to attend. Burial will be in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her memory to Temple Baptist Church Memorial Fund to assist the Siken family, 801 S. Lower Sacramento Road, Lodi, CA 95242.
