Sheila Grothe

Sheila Kay Grothe, 38, a resident of Dalton, died Friday, April 17, 2009 at Broen Memorial Home, surrounded by family and friends. Sheila was born on June 29, 1970 in Fergus Falls, the daughter of Geoffrey and Sharon (Richter) Rund. She was baptized at Rock Prairie Lutheran Church and was confirmed at Peace Lutheran Church in Ashby. She graduated from Ashby High School in 1988. She is a member of Rock Prairie Lutheran Church. On April 27, 1996 she married the love of her life, Randall Grothe at Rock Prairie Lutheran church. The couple was blessed with two wonderful children, Brittney and Derek.  She has worked various jobs through the years including, Lake Region Hospital, Nice Threads both in Fergus Falls, Ashby City Restaurant, U.P.S. in Fergus Falls, Dalton Bar and Grill and Jordan Enterprises. She enjoyed fishing, hunting, being with family and friends, camping, Fourth of July get togethers, reading Stephen King novels, watching movies, playing with family pets, feeding and watching her birds and tending to her “Grandma Roses”. Young people were always welcome and they always found her door open to them. Sheila found enjoyment just visiting and having fun with all people. Sheila is preceded in death by her grandparents, Otto and Corinne Richter; Kermit and Myrtle Rund; great-grandfather, Ingvald Rund and her father-in-law, Robert Grothe. Survivors include her husband, Randall; children, Brittney and Derek Grothe; parents, Geoffrey and Sharon Rund; sister, Dawn Rund, brothers, Brian Rund, Jared (Susie) Rund; “sister”, Kathy (Dusty) Evenson, brothers-in-law, Jason (April)  Grothe, Robert (Deb) Grothe; sisters-in-law, Roxanne (Kelly) Chandler, Valerie (Larry) Payne, Cylinda (Darcey) Cherrington; mother-in-law, Gwendolyn Grothe. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and special friends, along with honorary nieces and nephews.  Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday with a public prayer service at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home, visitation will resume one hour prior to the service at the church. Service: 1 p.m. Wednesday at Rock Prairie Lutheran Church, rural Elbow Lake. Clergy: Reverend Dan Cole Burial: Rock Prairie Lutheran Cemetery, rural Elbow Lake
