Sharon LaVae Sander, 66, a resident of Fergus Falls, passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at Lake Region Healthcare in Fergus Falls. She was born March 19, 1946, in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, the daughter of Darwin and Hilda (Grewe) Williams. She grew up and attended school in Fergus Falls. On November 19, 1960, she married Larry Sander in Rock Rapids, Iowa. Sharon worked for 12 years at Hardees in Fergus Falls, and then was employed for 18 years as a cook at the Fergus Falls Regional Treatment Center, until she became disabled. Sharon enjoyed playing Bingo at the VFW and visiting various casinos. Sharon and Larry visited Hawaii two times, took a vacation cruise to the Bahamas, and also traveled to Las Vegas, Nevada. Preceding her in death were her parents, Darwin and Hilda Williams, and two brothers, Duane and Jerome Williams. Survivors include her husband, Larry of Fergus Falls; three sons, Dale, Paul, and Kurt, all of Fergus Falls; three sisters: Ardis Tollefson of Detroit Lakes, and Janice (Jerry) Gilbertson and Delaine (Jerry) Gullickson, both of Fergus Falls; a granddaughter, Tully Kenyon of Moorhead; a half-brother, Dave Gaarsland of Battle Lake; and numerous cousins.
