Sharon Lacey

August 8, 1943 — February 27, 2025

Sharon Lacey, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, went home to be with her Savior Jesus Christ on the morning of February 27, 2025, at the age of 81. She was surrounded by her family, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and generosity.

Born on August 8, 1943, in Fergus Falls, Sharon grew up with a heart for others. She never knew a stranger-everyone who crossed her path was a friend. Her home was always open, and her kitchen was a place of comfort, where she baked countless treats, including her famous apple cuts. She had a way of making everyone feel welcome, putting others before herself in everything she did.

Sharon attended Morris Ag School and was involved in the Dalton 4-H Club during high school. On September 28, 1963, she married the love of her life, Jack, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Dalton. They settled on the family farm northwest of Wendell where they farmed for many years including several years with their son, Andy. Sharon embraced farm life as she kept chickens, gardened and raised their children, Dina, Andy, and Steve.

Her heart for service extended beyond her home. She was an active member of Lawrence Ladies Aid and found joy in volunteering, including time spent at Medora. She and Jack shared a passion for travel, making cherished memories together on many cruises, bus tours and winters in Arizona.

Sharon's pride and joy was her family. She is survived by her devoted husband of 61 years, Jack; brother, Nathan (Juli) Skrove, and sister-in-law Pat Skrove; three children, Dina (Dennis) Hanson, Andy (Brenda) Lacey, and Steve (Becky) Lacey; seven grandchildren, Tyler (Ali) Lacey, Ahna (Jonny) Walvatne, Austin (DeeAnna) Hanson, Seth (Rachelle) Hanson, Noah Hanson, Madeline (George) Charles, and Kate Lacey; and nine great-grandchildren, Oliver, Murphy, and Liv Lacey; Maggie, Asher, and Ellie Walvatne; and Henry, Peter, and George Hanson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney and Margaret Skrove; brother, Philman Skrove; and great granddaughter, Stella Walvatne.

Sharon's life was a testament to faith, love, and selflessness. She gave generously, loved unconditionally, and left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her. While she will be deeply missed, her kindness and warmth will continue to live on through her family and the countless lives she touched.
