Selma Mathilda Erickson, 77, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Thursday, November 22, 2012 at her home.
She was born February 1, 1935, in Elizabeth Township of Otter Tail County, Minnesota, the daughter of John and Clara (Stephenson) Carlson. She attended school at District 115 and Fergus Falls High School.
On June 7, 1953, she married Glenn A. Erickson in rural Erhard. She worked for Northwestern Bell in California, Fergus Falls, and Fargo, retiring in 1986.
She was an active member of Augustana Lutheran Church, and also a member of the Telephone Pioneers and the Tonseth Cemetery Board. She volunteered at Lake Region Hospital and the local food shelf.
Selma enjoyed living at the lake, gardening, and was a great cook, making lefse and canning. She loved quilting, playing cards, and sewing. Being with her many friends and family, especially her children and grandchildren, brought her much joy. She and Glenn traveled to Texas for many years, and enjoyed their time spent there.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Glenn, in 2007, and a brother, Carl.
Survivors include her children: Leslie (Clare) of Dalton Gardens, Idaho, Linda (Jerry) Shea of Fergus Falls, and Roy (Darla) of Hayden, Idaho; grandchildren: Thomas (Emilee) Erickson of Meridian, Idaho, Stephanie Erickson of Fargo, North Dakota, and Callie and Katie Shea of Fergus Falls; great-grandchildren Brilee Erickson and a great-grandson due in early December; a brother Edwin (Ruth) Carlson of Fergus Falls; as well as several nieces and nephews and many friends.
Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with a 7 p.m. prayer service, and resumes one hour prior to the service at the church.
Service: 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2012, at Augustana Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls

Interment: Tonseth Cemetery, rural Erhard, Minnesota
