Sarah was born to Asmundur Swain Benson and Kathleen Teresa (Loveland) Benson on April 26, 1976 in Grand Forks, ND.
Sarah attended Bottineau High School, graduating in 1994. She then attended NDSU-BB, earning an Associate of Science degree, Minot State University, earning a Bachelor of Science-Elementary and Special Education degree, and UND School of Law, earning a Juris Doctor in 2002.
Sarah married Ryan Robert Cheshire on Sep. 20, 2003 at the Lakeside Chapel in Bottineau, ND.
After graduating law school, Sarah worked for the Minnesota Judicial Branch for 10 years and joined the Karkela, Hunt & Cheshire Law Firm in 2013.
Sarah was preceded in death by grandparents Harold and Ruth Loveland, grandfather A.S. Benson and Uncle Kenneth Loveland.
She is survived by her three children, Reagan, Rowan and Alexander Cheshire of Fergus Falls, MN; her parents, Swain and Kathy Benson of Bottineau; her siblings, Swain (Leah) Benson of Bottineau, Brooke Benson of Blaine, MN and Laura Benson of Boston, MA; her grandmother E. Fay Benson of Bottineau; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and close companion, Nathan Kuhn of Fergus Falls.
Sarah's trademark smile lives on through her three beautiful children. Her generosity and compassion are reflected through the incredible communities in which she lived and worked, and in her beloved friends and family. Her spirit will be remembered in the memories we all share and hold dear in our hearts. Sarah graced this world with a vigor and vitality that will never be forgotten. Her inextinguishable light is a beacon to living justly and loving unconditionally.
The family requests memorials be sent to the Sarah Benson Cheshire Childrens' Memorial fund, located at the State Bank of Bottineau.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday December 13, 2017, at Lake Metigoshe Christian Center, 10605 Lake Hoop Rd E, Bottineau, ND.
