Sandra “Sandy” Hanneman, 64, a resident of rural Elizabeth died Monday, July 6, 2009, at her daughter’s home. Sandy was born on April 14, 1945 in Fergus Falls, the daughter of Herbert and Caroline (Lane) Hanneman. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran church in Elizabeth. She attended Fergus Falls schools and worked on the family farm. On February 19, 1965 she married Gordon Julsrud in Sisseton, SD. The couple lived and farmed in Elizabeth Township until 1981. Her free spirit personality led her to numerous places throughout the United States and Canada, including the Yukon. She enjoyed farming and construction work. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Elizabeth and the sportsman club. She was involved with 4-H, softball, and volunteering at WeFest. She enjoyed shaking dice, going on trips to the casinos, being outdoors, hunting, fishing and trapping. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Gordon Julsrud; brother, Daryl; son-in-law, Clifford Whitman; ; nephews, Allen Pray, Tim Norgren, and Jeff Wandersee; sisters-in-law, Shirley Pray, Patricia Norgren, Ann Hanneman and Barb Hanneman; brother-in-law, Harold Larson, as well as numerous aunts and uncles and cousins. Survivors include her children, JoLynn (Duane) Hanneman of Underwood, Oliver Julsrud of Fergus Falls, Kalyn (Darlene) Julsrud of Richville, and Karrie (Jerry) Ouren of Elizabeth; daughters-in-law, Cathleen Julsrud and Klara Julsrud both of Fergus Falls and Angela Van Cleef of Pelican Rapids; grandchildren, Kalyn, Christopher, Andrew, Brandon, Misty, Bradley, Jesse Allen, Destoni, Cameron, Alesha and Alexis; brothers, Lester Hanneman of Princeton and Richard (Joane) Hanson of Moorhead; sister, Betty Larson of Elizabeth; along with an aunt and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
