Sandra “Sandy” Kay Hage, 71, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Friday, June 21, 2013 at Lake Region Healthcare in Fergus Falls, Minnesota.
She was born August 21, 1941, in Dawson, Minnesota, the daughter of Rueben and Ruth (Jordahl) Moen. She grew up in Dawson, graduating from Dawson High School in 1959 in a class of 75 students. While in school she was a cheerleader and participated in GAA (Girls Athletic Association). She attended Concordia College in Moorhead for a time before moving to Minneapolis. She worked for Northwestern Bell, working her way up to supervisor. She also worked for a time at the Star Tribune. She has been employed at Walmart for the past 21 years, up until her death.
On April 27, 1968 she married John Hage in Dawson. They made their home in Minneapolis until moving to Fergus Falls in 1969. Sandy spent much of her time taking care of her children, running them around to baseball games, swimming, wrestling, bowling and horse shows.
Sandy enjoyed gardening, baking, bowling, fishing, and volunteering at the Feed Bag at the T & C Saddle Club. She was an avid fan of her daughter during the years she raced cars. What she most loved was being with her grandchildren – they were the light of her life.
Preceding her in death were her parents.
Survivors include her husband, John Hage of Fergus Falls; her children: Cory Hage of Fergus Falls, Michele Stroud of Underwood, and Darren (Sara) Hage of Fergus Falls; grandchildren Mikayla Stroud and Roric Hage; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
