Sandra LaVonne Delzer, 70, of Dalton, died Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at Lake Region Healthcare, Fergus Falls.
She was born February 18, 1945, in Fergus Falls, the daughter of Alfred and Gladys (Salomonson) Obright. She grew up near Maine Presbyterian Church, where she was a lifelong member being confirmed there, as well as being married to Dennis Delzer there on June 26, 1965.
Sandy graduated from Underwood High School in 1963. Following high school she moved to Fargo, ND as a medical secretary. She then moved to Minneapolis and was employed with Boise Cascade Company as a secretary. In 1970, they moved to rural Dalton, where she made her home since.
She loved to watch high school sports, music and arts activities that her children and family participated in. She always loved to help people and was concerned about others more than herself. She enjoyed music, especially country music, visiting with people, sending cards to many friends and church members, and family gatherings. Sandy had a contagious smile and a gentle spirit.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Women’s group, a Camp Fire leader, Sunday School teacher, and helped her husband at the Lake Region Pioneer Threshermens Association in Dalton. She enjoyed flowers, birds, nature, and the rural setting of her home.
Preceding her in death were her father, Alfred and a brother, Robert.
