*** UPDATE*** There is NO visitation prior to the graveside service.
Ryan Louis Waerzeggers, 28, of Fergus Falls, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on April 22, 2024.
Ryan was born May 10, 1995 to John and Sherri (Eggert) Waerzeggers in Fergus Falls.
Ryan graduated from Underwood High School in 2013. During his junior and senior year of high school he excelled in woodworking and welding and after graduation he went on to find work in those same fields. Ryan was active in taekwondo, travelling the state of Minnesota, earning many trophies and achieving the rank of Jr. Black Belt...he could take on the big boys.
In the summer of 2010, Ryan applied for and accepted a position with the Minnesota Conservation Corps as an Environmental Steward. On August 13, 2010, he was presented the "Fire Flipper" award. During his time on the North Shore, he fell in love with the area and after graduation he moved to Grand Marais for 7 years. Ryan worked in various construction and welding fields. He was a welder for Lund Boats Co., millwright for Gateway Building Systems, Arborer for Firewise USA and Carpenter for Building Blocks. In 2023, he moved back to Fergus Falls to be closer to family. He eventually returned to his job at Gateway Building Systems and was happy to work alongside some of his old co-workers.
Ryan loved hunting, fishing and hiking, all things in nature. His true calling was music. Ryan played guitar and keyboards and could listen to a song and play it within seconds on his guitar. His entertaining humor and guitar playing around the campfire will truly be missed.
Ryan had a smile that could light up a room. He had a kind and compassionate heart of gold and would help anyone in their time of need. Ryan rededicated his life to Jesus on Easter 2017 and found comfort in his favorite bible verse, Psalm 23, which he kept on a poster by his bed.
Preceding him in death were his maternal grandparents, Clarence and Lydia Eggert and paternal grandparents, Louis and Virginia Waerzeggers.
Ryan is survived by his father, John (Pam Mattson) Waerzeggers of Fergus Falls; mother, Sherri Waerzeggers of Fergus Falls; siblings, Melissa (Greg) Rosentreter of Fergus Falls, Michael Tollefson of Terrell, TX, and Melissa (Mike) Daniels of Brainerd; 5 nieces and nephews, Lexie (Thomas) Grotberg, Ethan Rosentreter, Nakita Waerzeggers, Logan Daniels and Lucas Daniels. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
