Ruth A. Luhman, 81, of Fergus Falls, died Sunday, February 15, 2015, at PioneerCare in Fergus Falls, Minnesota.
Ruth was born on April 3, 1933 in Lake City, Minnesota, the daughter of Gust and Anna (Wiebusch) Bartels. She was baptized on April 23, 1933 and confirmed on April 14, 1946.
On November 29, 1954, she married Donald Luhman at Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Lake City, Minnesota. The couple resided in Lake City where Don was employed in the meat sales business. Don and Ruth also lived in Albert Lea and Mankato. They later moved to Fergus Falls where they owned and operated OK Hardware, and then started Luhman Real Estate.
Ruth was an avid flower gardener, spending many hours working on her garden. She enjoyed decorating for the holidays, cooking and baking for family friends, and also enjoyed bowling on a league. Ruth was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Don; sister, Marge (Charles) Kuehn; brother, Virgil (Kathryn) Bartels.
Survivors include sister-in-law, Marcy Buck of Goodhue, MN; several nieces and nephews; and special friends and caregivers, Pam and Mark Svendsgaard, Amanda and Alexis.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the donor’s choice.
Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church
Memorial Service: 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls
