Ruth Boe

Ruth Marian Boe, 85, died Tuesday, September 6, 2011, surrounded by family at PioneerCare Nursing Home in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. She was born September 17, 1925, in Nashua, the daughter of John and Laura Steen. Ruth graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Minnesota in 1947, and taught high school literature in the Red Wing, Minnesota school district. Ruth and Elliott were married September 15, 1948, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls and resided at their home on Lake Alice from 1953 to the present. Ruth served as a board member of the Fergus Falls Public Library and the Otter Tail County Historical Society. She was an active member of the First Lutheran Church Altar Guild. She was an avid amateur photographer, genealogist, and gardener. She will be dearly missed. Ruth is survived by her husband, Elliott Boe; children, Jeffrey, Nathan, Stephen, Eric and Karen; a sister, Marie Steen; a brother, Howard Steen; and six grandchildren.
