On June 29, 1941, she married William “Bill” D. Wahl at St. John’s Church in Tyler. They resided in Fargo. After her husband enlisted in the Navy she lived in various places including Illinois, New York, and New Orleans. Upon his discharge in 1945, the couple made their home in Wahpeton, where Bill was employed with Otter Tail Power Company. In 1949 he was transferred to Fergus Falls, and she has lived here since that time. Ruby enjoyed crafts, cards, square dancing, reading, crocheting, traveling, and spending time at the lake. She was a member of various homemaker clubs, card groups, and the Senior Center. In her later years she spent many hours listening to books on tape. Over the years she served as a Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher and sang in the church choir. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Bill, in 1988; a daughter, Mona Seil, in 1994; two brothers, Elmer and Ray Schradieck; and two sisters, Elfrieda and Esther Koppelman.
