Ruby M. Neuleib, 87, a resident of Ft. Ripley, formerly of Fergus Falls, died Sunday, May 16, 2010 at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd. She was born March 8, 1923, in Wilkin County, Minnesota, the daughter of Syver and Clara (Lunstad) Halbakken. Ruby grew up in the Pelican Rapids and Rothsay area. On November 16, 1941, she married Elmer Rudolph Neuleib in Rothsay. They resided in Fergus Falls where they raised their five children. Elmer passed away in 2002. Ruby continued to live in Fergus Falls until 15 months ago, when she moved in with her daughter, Linda, in Fort Ripley. Preceding her in death were her husband; six brothers: Selmer (Ida) Halbakken, Norman (Cora) Halbakken, Walter (Ardis) Halbakken, William (Helen) Halbakken, Gilman Halbakken, and Marvin (Lucille) Halbakken; four sisters: Mable (Oluf) Korsgaden, Bernice (Orville) Sorum, Nora (Oluf) Hengebol, and Hazel (Roy) McCormick; and a son-in-law, Robert Schmidt. Survivors include her five children: Jean Schmidt of Alexandria, Maynard (Betty) Neuleib of Underwood, Floyd (Barb) Neuleib of Fergus Falls, Jerry (Alice) Neuleib of Fergus Falls, and Linda (Richard) Sisco of Ft. Ripley; 14 grandchildren: Janet, John, Nicole, Michelle, Jessica, Brett, Katie, Heather, Greta, Kayla, Jeremy, Jennifer, Justin, and Jade; 24 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Lloyd Halbakken of Detroit Lakes. Ruby will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with a 7 p.m. prayer service for those who can’t attend the Sunday service with Rev.
