Roy L Hilde

Roy Hilde, 90, passed away September 25, 2018, at his home in Fergus Falls. Roy was born January 15, 1928 at home in Ransom County, ND. He was the youngest of 5 children born to Albin and Dagney Hilde. Roy attended school in Fort Ransom and farmed with his dad. He attended business college and then went to serve in the army during the Korean War.

He returned home after the war and married Joyce Isley on December 17, 1951. They farmed at the family farm in Verona, North Dakota until 1967. Roy moved his family to Moorhead, MN where he was employed by Red Owl Inc. until his retirement in 1989. In the year 2000 Roy and Joyce relocated to Fergus Falls.

Roy is survived by his wife Joyce; children, Debra (Tom) DeBrito of Fergus Falls, MN, William (Kaki) Hilde of Denton, TX, Richard (Kim) Hilde of Milford, IA; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; sister Dorothy Long of Loveland, CO; and many nieces and nephews;

Preceding him death were his parents, Albin and Dagney Hilde; sisters Connie Obritsch and Mildred McLaen; brother Albin Hilde Jr.; son Mitchell Hilde.

Roy was a member of Calvary Free Lutheran Church. He was also a member of the American Legion and the V.F.W.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to LB Hospice.

Visitation: one hour prior to the service at the church
Memorial Service: 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 13, 2018, at Calvary Free Lutheran Church, Fergus Falls

Interment: Oak Grove Cemetery, Fergus Falls
