Rosemary Ann Wilke, age 84, a resident of rural Underwood, died Friday, April 1, 2016, at her home, surrounded by her family in body and in spirit.
Rosemary was born in Owatonna, MN, on November 7, 1931, the eighth child of William and Theresa (Stumpf) Keane. She attended St. Mary's grade school and graduated from Owatonna High School. She attended St. Benedict College and graduated from St. Cloud Teachers College. She taught school in Clancy, MT, from 1951 to 1952 and in Murdock, MN, from 1953 to 1955.
On June 26, 1954, she married Merle Wilke at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Owatonna. The couple lived on a farm south of DeGraff, MN, until 1957, when they moved to a dairy farm south of Underwood, MN.
Rosemary enjoyed spending time with her abundant family, reading, quilting, sewing, bowling, and putting puzzles together.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Merle Wilke; her parents, William and Theresa; seven brothers, James, Larry, Frank, John, Joseph, Thomas and Eugene; one sister, Irene Kernz;
grandson-¬in¬-law, Justin Kinzler; a great-¬granddaughter, Aurora Kurtz; and a great¬-grandson, Lane Jensen.
She is survived by all nine of her children, Mark (Mary) Wilke of West Fargo, ND, Steven (Debra) Wilke of Underwood, MN, Pat (Steve) Jensen of Underwood, MN, Daniel Wilke of Fairmount, ND, Kenneth (Lori) Wilke of Albert Lea, MN, Jerry (Holly) Wilke of Fargo, ND, Donna (Steve) Marts of Moorhead, MN, Susan (Wayne) Tweeton of Marion, IA, and Scott (Beth) Wilke of Blaine, MN; 21 grandchildren; 24 great-¬grandchildren; and one sister, Patricia (Sam) Browman.
Visitation: 5:00-7:00 PM on Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at the Olson Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 6:30 PM. Visitation will resume one hour prior to the service at the church.
