Roselle Scramstad

Roselle Scramstad, 80, of Bemidji and formerly of Underwood, died Sunday, September 22, 2013, at Havenwood Nursing Home in Bemidji, Minnesota.

Roselle E. Scramstad was born on November 22, 1932, in Oak Valley Township, near Deer Creek, Minnesota, the daughter of Leon and Tamson (Chase) Hennagir. She graduated from Deer Creek High School in 1950, and then attended Fergus Falls School of Beauty in 1951.

For 44 years, Roselle was a cosmetologist. She taught at Ritter’s School of Beauty in Fergus Falls for 28 years. She enjoyed teaching and working in this profession. To many of her students, she was known as “Rose”.

On March 12, 1955, she married Ernest Bjorgo in Port Orchard, Washington. After their marriage, the couple resided at Phelps Mill. He passed away on October 31, 1977, of Renal Disease.

On October 19, 1989, she married Lloyd Scramstad at Sverdrup Lutheran Church in Underwood. The couple lived on his farm near Underwood, until he passed away on January 8, 1995. After Lloyd’s death, she moved back to her home at Phelps Mill. In 1996, she moved to Cass Lake.

She was a member of Tingvold Lutheran Church and its ALCW (Ladies Aide).

She enjoyed traveling, family gatherings at Phelps Mill, listening to music, and her flowers.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband Ernest Bjorgo, and late husband, Lloyd Scramstad; two sisters, Matilda Ward and Freida Hallauer; and one brother, Archie Hennagir.

Survivors include her sister, Janette Conner of Cass Lake, Minnesota; and one brother, Lenzie Hennagir of East Battle Lake. Also surviving are 14 nieces and nephews; 26 great-nieces and great- nephews; and 15 great-great nieces and great-great nephews.

Service: 1 p.m. Saturday, September 28, 2013, at Tingvold Lutheran Church, rural Underwood
