Rosalie Elaine Peasley

January 8, 1939 — August 27, 2017

Rosalie “Rose” Elaine Peasley, 78, went home to her Lord, Sunday, August 27, 2017 at Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls.

Rose was born on January 8, 1939, in rural Erhard, to Bernard “Bud” and Grace (Bakeman) Hoffman. She was baptized and confirmed at Maplewood Lutheran Church. She was currently a member of Tonseth Lutheran Church.

She grew up on the family farm and attended country school 8 miles east of Erhard, in rural Maplewood Township.

Lloyd Peasley had just been discharged from the Army when he met the love of his life, Rose. They were married September 17, 1955 in Sisseton, SD. Their first home was in Maplewood Park. In 1966, the couple moved to a farm that they had purchased 2 ½ miles east of Erhard. This was their home for 39 years and where they raised their three children, Lorrie, Larry, and Danny.

Rose was known for her hard work. She was employed at Pelican Rapids Turkey Plant, Rosenblatts, Medallion Kitchens, and Banner Engineering among others.

Most of all, Rose loved her family. Their needs always came before her own. She was known for her love of horses and dogs, especially Tinker and Pepper. Her and Lloyd enjoyed fishing and deer hunting. Rose also loved to draw, paint and created many beautiful works of art for her family. She was a spunky, feisty woman and was up for any challenge given to her. Later in life she studied long and hard and obtained her GED. Her family was so proud of her. At this same time, she also enrolled in classes at Fergus Falls Community College, one of them being art.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Bernard and Grace Hoffman; father and mother-in-law, Ralph and Emma Peasley; brothers, Rueben and Verne; half-sisters, Bernadine and Delores; step-sister, Rose Marie; sister-in-law, Laverne; brothers-in-law, David, Roy and James.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Lloyd of Fergus Falls; children, Lorrie (Dale) Schmidt of Battle Lake, Larry (Brenda) Peasley of Erhard; Danny (Angie) Peasley of Barnesville; grandchildren, Stephanie (Brad) Anderson, Katie (Dan) Barbre, Ben (Sara) Peasley, Amber (Seth) Simonson, Joe Peasley, Adam Peasley, Zachary Peasley, Alexis Peasley, Matt Fossum, Amy Fossum; 14 great grandchildren; sister, Patricia (Randy) Erickson of Pelican Rapids; sisters-in-law, Jane Kinnaman of Moorhead, Lynn Kinnaman of Duluth, Verna Peasley of Pelican Rapids; step-brother, Robert (Violet) Pourrier of Erhard; half-sisters, Charlene of Oklahoma and Betty Ann of Tennessee. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, friends and her very special companion, her dog, “Muffin”.
