Ronald Sydney Anderson, 79, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Thursday, July 31, 2008, at his home. He was born June 25, 1929, in Dalton, Minnesota, the son of Otto and Mae (Johnson) Anderson. He attended school at District #7 near Dalton. As a young man he went into the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean Conflict. Following his discharge, he farmed near Slayton, Minnesota, and later worked in Kansas City for a time. He moved back to Fergus Falls where he lived until his death. Ronald was a member of the VFW in Fergus Falls. He was also a long standing member of the local Salvation Army and participated in many of their activities, including the Holiday bell ringing. He enjoyed music and playing cards, and always took pleasure in buying and caring for his cars. Preceding him in death were his parents, and a brother, James. Survivors include five children: Linda and JoAnn of Fargo, Geri of New York Mills, Tom of Duluth, and Helen of Crookston; eight grandchildren; a brother, Otto (Lois) Anderson Jr. of Fergus Falls; and a sister-in-law, Shirley Anderson of Fergus Falls.
