Roger William Frank, 69, a resident of rural Underwood, and loving husband, father, and grandfather, died unexpectedly on Thursday, August 9, 2007, at Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls. He was born September 28, 1937, in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, the son of Harvey and Mabel (Klomstad) Frank. He grew up there, graduating from Detroit Lakes High School in 1955. Roger served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1960. He worked for Town Taxi as a driver and dispatcher, and also dispatched cement trucks for Oscar Roberts. Roger knew the Twin Cities roadways like the back of his hand and was the best at giving detailed directions to anywhere. Roger most recently lived with his wife of 44 years, Marlene, on their "piece of Heaven" in Underwood. Before that, Roger and Marlene lived in Mound, MN for 37 years. He enjoyed golf, fishing, woodworking, traveling, reading, and working in the yard. In addition to his wife, Roger is survived by his son, Dennis, of Mound; daughter Teri and husband Tim of Watertown, MN; and three grandsons: Andy, Dan, and Nathan Dressel of Watertown, MN. Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers: Wesley, Merwin, James and Robert; and his sister, Dorothy Miller.
