Rodney F. Moebius, 78, a resident of Dalton, died Monday, September 5, 2016, at the Barrett Care Center under the care of Lakeland Hospice in Barrett.
Rodney was born on April 15, 1938, to Orlin E. and Clarabelle (Hansel) Moebius in his grandparent’s home in Fergus Falls. He attended elementary school at District 55 rural Dalton and high school in Morris.
On July 1, 1961, he married Mary Odegaard at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Dalton. Rodney served in the Army Reserves for six years in Ft. Knox and Ft. Leonardwood, and also served in active duty for six months. He was a farmer, as well as working in the Implement shop in Dalton, and a seed dealer for RenK Seed and L.G. Seed.
He was a member of Our Saviors-Ten Mile Lake Church, Dalton. He enjoyed fishing, shop work and duck and goose hunting.
Preceding him in death were his parents; grandparents, Frank and Lila Moebius, Nellie (Stavaas) Moebius and Christ and Carrie Hansel and an aunt and uncle, J. Frances and Arnold Nibbe.
Rodney is survived by his wife, Mary of Dalton; his children, Penny Sue (Chuck) Miller of Osakis, Donald Ray (Joyce) Moebius of Dalton and Tommy Ross Moebius of Dalton; grandchildren, Stacy Lynn (Erik) Ramsay, Stephanie Marie (Caleb) Person and Sarah Ann Miller; great-grandchildren, twins-Jace Christian and Conner Kenneth Person and Abel Franklin Person; a brother, Nolan (Delores) Moebius of Dalton, and two nieces, Jamie (Kory) Bartch and Tammi (Terry) Larson.
Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church.
Service: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 8, 2016, at Our Saviors-Ten Mile Lake Lutheran Church in Dalton, MN
