Robert Allen Rudh, 70, of Rothsay, died on Friday, December 25, 2015, at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND.
Robert was born on March 4, 1945, in Fergus Falls, the son of Raymond and Adeline (Haga) Rudh. He grew up and attended school in Rothsay graduating with the Class of 1963. From September of 1965 to May of 1967, he served in the Army, where he spent a year and a half in Germany. He enjoyed his time in Europe and took the opportunity to travel and participate in many activities and events.
For many years Robert drove truck over the road, which included a time when he owned and operated his own rig. As well, he spent lots of time farming and helping friends with field work. He developed proto-type bank security systems, while working for a major banking systems company and retained some clients which he serviced. Most recently, he was driving truck in the area for Super Valu in Fargo until his retirement.
He spent lots of time buying and selling cars, trucks, motorcycles and any other motor vehicles he came across. One of his all-time favorites had to be his white “74” Corvette, which he owned for many years. Robert also had a passion for riding his Harley Davidson and rode whenever the opportunity arose. Robert also enjoyed fishing and loved to cook. He was a member of Eagles Aerie 2342, American Legion Post 0376 and the National Corvette Owners Association.
Robert will be missed by all including his family and friends.
Robert was preceded in death by his father, Raymond; two brothers, Leslie and Tommy; and a niece, Angie Hedstrom.
Survivors include his mother, Adeline Rudh of Rothsay; a brother, Larry (Beth) Rudh of Fergus Falls; a step-daughter, Janette Smith of Mesa, AZ; nephews, Aaron Rudh and Matthew Buckley; a niece, Heather (Jason) Bruns; as well as many cousins.
