Robert Steven Piekarski, 61, a resident of rural Fergus Falls, died of natural causes on Thursday, May 19, 2011, at his farm. He was born October 2, 1949, in Little Falls, Minnesota, the son of Louis and Margaret (Hilmerson) Piekarski. He graduated from Fergus Falls High School, and then graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Moorhead State College. Bob spent his life farming south of Fergus Falls. He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Fergus Falls. Bob enjoyed taking his nieces and nephews fishing on the area lakes, whether it was ice fishing in the winter, or out in his boat in the summer cruising the lakes looking for his favorite fishing spot, going deer hunting in the fall, trapping in his youth, and farming the land, but his passion was finance. Preceding him in death were his parents, and a brother, David Piekarski. Survivors include his siblings: Kathryn Hudson of Wahpeton, Daniel (Susan) Piekarski of Fergus Falls, Patricia (Clem) Leitch of Richville, Michael (Tamie) Piekarski of Fergus Falls, and Jane (Perri) Hagen of Mesa, AZ; and nieces and nephews: Kari Piekarski, Jason Piekarski, Douglas Hudson II, Kevin Piekarski, Alisha Piekarski, and Levi Long. Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service and resumes one hour prior to the service at the church.
